The Chicago Tribune has reported the play Billy will be starring in at Victory Gardens next summer.
Victory Gardens picks a play for William L. Petersen
William L. Petersen, the former Chicago stage actor turned television star, has agreed to return to Victory Gardens next season.
Artistic director Dennis Zacek says that Petersen will star next summer in a new production of the British play “Blackbird,” directed by Zacek himself.
David Harrower’s intense, two-handed drama was hailed at the Edinburgh Festival in 2006 and then in London’s West End in 2007.
Petersen, of course, is best known for the CBS procedural show “CSI.”
He first earned his Equity card at the Gardens.
