Strangle-Hold: The Gripping Films of William Friedkin

The Aero Theatre in Santa Monica has been showing a series of William Friedkin movies including To Live & Die in LA this weekend. ย  William Friedkin has been present at the theatre discussing his movies and it looks like Billy was with him last night for the showing of The French Connection and To Live & Die in LA.

Oh MAN! That would have been awesome to see. To see TLaDiLA on the big screen would be… yeah. What was I saying?

You were saying it would be awesome…which it would.

It would be very awesome! I passed it up in 1985 when my friends went to see it because I didn’t like that kind of movie! To think now that I missed it makes me so mad at myself & it was so much longer before I knew who Billy was. I still didn’t know when he came here to Atlanta to film parts of “Manhunter”! The man was practically in my back yard!

Oh Billy, in black and with the beard again?, is hot

  5. Ad says:

Cool to see a very recent pic! Is it a goatee I’m seeing?

    @Ad

Hard to tell, but it does look like it doesn’t it.

Yeah, I’m thinking it would make some sense for him to have a goatee with the short haircut, since he would be less recognizable. ๐Ÿ™‚

And btw, I think he would look really good in one. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m really glad to see the beard back! I would love to see some longer hair, though. I really miss the curls. He has such beautiful hair and still has a head full of it; most men his age don’t have a full head of hair. I wish he’d let it grow a bit.

  9. Susan says:

It would be great if this was taped.

  10. Pat says:

Yeah.. it does suit him, very well. I’m distracted again.

What a treat it would have been to be able to see TLaDiLA on the big screen! I have to agree with Pat and say that the thought is very distracting…lol

I love that Billy has grown back some facial hair. It’s my favourite look on him.
I do however wish he’d grow his hair a bit longer so that the curls came back.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he figured that he’s recognised less with the short, close cropped hair and he likes it that way. Or maybe he just got tired of brushing his hair….lol That’s how Grissom got the beard; Billy got tired of shaving… ๐Ÿ˜‰

He loves Friedkin, doesn’t he? And his hair does not look quite as white as it did in the Detachment photo. I’d love to hear his comments on back then vs now! Esp about a certain scene in this movie!
