The Chicago History Museum is proud to announce the fall Chicago Treasures. Through live conversations, these individuals will discuss how the city has shaped their lives and careers. September 30 features actress Jane Lynch, October 29 features actor William Petersen, and November 19 will feature DJ Terri Hemmert.

On Wednesday, October 29, William Petersen, known most recently for his role as Gil Grissom in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation will be interviewed by Chicago Tribune columnist, Rick Kogan. Petersen has a distinguished background in film, theater, and television. His feature film credits include To Live and Die in LA, Cousins, Young Guns II, Fear, The Contender, and Hard Promises, which he also produced.

A Dublin Carol Tickets on Sales Today

For ease the box office opens at 11am Chicago time today.

A Dublin Carol Overview

John, a man whose life was nearly destroyed by drinking, now holds down a steady job at a Dublin undertaker’s office. When his estranged daughter appears on Christmas Eve with disturbing news, it sets off a series of painful confessions that ultimately offer John a chance to escape the burdens of his past.

Ensemble member Amy Morton directed Conor McPherson’s The Weir at Steppenwolf and returns after appearing in the Broadway production of August: Osage County. William Petersen was a co-founder of the Remains Theater Ensemble in Chicago and is well known for playing Gil Grissom on CSI.

Fundraiser – Raffles

Just to remind folks that raffle tickets to win theatre tickets to Blackbird and the various MemoraBILLYa prizes are only available to buy up until 5.30 pm (GMT) September 30th (next Tuesday).    The prize draw will be on Sunday 4th October (we’ll be posting info soon).

You can continue to donate via the general donation button up until October 31st.  The final fundraiser results will be posted on November 1st.

All monies received will be split equally between the American Cancer Society and Victory Gardens Theater and donated in the name of William Petersen.

This charity fundraiser is part of a congratulations gift to William Petersen to congratulate him on being a recipient of a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.   (He is a 2009 recipient).   Read the official press release here.
