Finally France’s Pretty Pictures was the first to seal a deal with Tony Kaye’s powerful ensemble drama Detachment, acquiring all French rights to the film.

“We knew we had to have [Detachment] the moment the credits rolled,” said Pretty Pictures President James Velaise. “Tony Kaye is a wonderfully creative filmmaker andAdrien Brody delivers an extraordinary performance, as does the rest of the cast,” which includes Christina Hendricks, Marcia Gay Harden, Lucy Liu, Blythe Danner, James Caan, Tim Blake Nelson, Bryan Cranston, and William Petersen.

Detachment
presents a critical portrait of the education system through the eyes of substitute teacher Henry Barthes, played by Brody, and “is sure to serve as a conversation piece for all…. those concerned with where the U.S. education system is going,” said Velaise.
