Steppenwolf Now – Preview Event

If you are a subscriber of Steppenwolf’s email updates, then you would have seen the RSVP invite to the STEPPENWOLF NOW – PREVIEW EVENT on October 21st.
As mentioned previously on this site, Billy is performing in AGES OF THE MOON by SAM SHEPHERD as part of the Steppenwolf Now virtual series. The play will be available to watch next June and tickets to the entire series costs $75 which you can pick up at the Steppenwolf website.
We cannot recommend you get yourself a ticket enough, as this is a great opportunity for you to see Billy perform on “stage” wherever you are in the world.
During the event, Artistic Director, Anna Shapiro held conversations with the actors, writers and directors of all the plays that are included in the virtual series, finishing off the event with a conversation she held with Billy, Randall Arney, who is also in this two person, one act, 35 page play and Ian Barford, who is directing (congratulations to Ian for his Tony nomination also)!
Before airing the conversation with the guys, Anna shared great insight into the comparison of the play with one that both Billy and Randy stared in together back in the mid 1980s, FOOL FOR LOVE, also by Sam Shepherd, in that it was like those same characters were meeting up again after 36 years.
Billy talked about how Martha Lavey sent him the play a long time ago, and how much he liked it. Over the past couple of years he had been in discussions with both Randy and Ian about possibly doing the play in LA and Chicago, but it was difficult to schedule, and that the restrictions and limitations with the virus, has allowed them to explore this. All three were very excited about bringing this play to the virtual series.
