Billy will be participating in the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation Benefit on Aug. 27: (From the Chicago Sun-Times)
*To wit: Dreesen, who’s a co-chair of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation, has enlisted some big-time Chicago natives to participate in the group’s Aug. 27 benefit show at McCormick Place. And he wasted no time in snaring his latest: Vince Vaughn. Dreesen met with Vaughn on the downtown set of his movie “The Break Up” Monday and persuaded the North Shore native to join the cause. Vaughn’s participation boosts an already impressive acting lineup, including Joe Mantegna, former cop Dennis Farina, Gary Sinise, Bernie Mac, William Peterson, Dennis Franz and Peter Cetera.

[Excerpt] By the way, late last year you appeared on the popular US TV series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, playing Daniel Lopez, a leukemia patient, in the episode Harvest. I remember you killed your sister to spare her the pain of having her donate one of her kidneys to you.
“I thought it was fantastic! I had memorable moments working on that show. I did several scenes but my big scene was with William Petersen who is a fantastic and incredibly supportive actor. He’s also a stage actor; he’s from Chicago and he works for the Steppenwolf Theatre Company. It was a five-minute monologue scene and it was fantastic.”
Look for Billy to sing again during the 7th inning stretch at a Cubs game this summer! From the Chicago Tribune

DENTON DITTY: “Desperate Housewives” star James Denton saw our item about Harry Caray’s restaurant still holding some ancient paychecks (totaling $28.21) back from his days there as a waiter in the early ’90s. He wrote the eatery’s CEO, Grant DePorter, “Don’t worry. I won’t charge you interest on the paychecks!”
More importantly, the TV heartthrob told DePorter he’d love to participate — even long distance — in the annual worldwide “Toast to Harry Caray,” which already will include such luminaries as Andy MacPhail, Billy Corgan, John Cusack, Marv Levy, William Petersen, Ron Harper, Fisher Stevens, Jeremy Piven, Bobby Hull, Jeremy Roenick, Stephen Baldwin and Jeff Garlin — joining toastmaster Ryne Sandberg
February 7, 2005 – Congratulations to the cast of CSI on their Screen Actors Guild Awardfor Best Ensemble in a Television Drama. The awards were broadcast Saturday, Feb. 5 on TNT. Billy accepted the award, accompanied by the rest of the cast and had this to say:
WILLIAM PETERSEN: Well, this is a shock. The only explanation for this is that somehow in the last year, every one of you tried to act with rubber gloves and tweezers. Although I will have to say that when you share your close-up with carpet fibers, you’re doing a little bit of ensemble acting. [laughter]
The best thing about being an actor is that we get to hang out with other actors. We enjoy being with each other every day, we care about each other, we’re friends, and that’s truly our reward. We’re proud to be members of the Screen Actors Guild, the best private club in the world, and we would like to thank our fellowship of gypsies for this lovely award.
Thank you. Peace.
See the Video clip here (2.6 MB) Updates includes pictures from the event. Images copyright to Wireimage, Corbis, Reuters, and Celebrityphoto.com. Thanks to Puppypower, Ebuzz and Peggy for the Celebrityphoto.com pics and to Amanda for the pics she let me share. 🙂 I have also posted some screencaps as well. Getty Images also has pictures from the event, as well as couple from last week’s CSI episode Nesting Dolls. From the Hollywood Reporter:
The cast of CBS’s “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” won outstanding ensemble in a drama series. It was the fourth nomination for Anthony E. Zuiker’s forensic evidence investigation team but their first win. “We were all a little shocked,” said Marg Helgenberger. “We’ve won a few People’s Choice awards, but this is the first time we’ve won a SAG award. They usually honor shows where casts are asked to emote and show all those histrionics.” Asked if any scenes were ever too gross to complete, Helgenberger said there was one genital reassignment surgery scene that caused the cast and crew to run from a small stage. Asked if they watched ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” Helgenberger said, “Yes, we’re going to have a ‘Desperate CSI.’ We can solve their crimes easily.” Asked what their most desperate-ever audition was, the entire ensemble vied for the microphone. William Petersen won out and told a story about dropping his pants for a 68-year old Lana Turner. “She freaked out completely,” Petersen said. “‘What are you doing?!’ she said. ‘Put your pants on!’ She ran out of the room and the casting guy came in and said, ‘What are you doing?'” Petersen did not get the part.
Billy was also featured in last Thursdays issue of USA Today – Petersen Lays it on the Table
Also, we have the screencaps from Thursday’s CSI episode – Nesting Dolls.
January 24, 2005 – The WPAP would like to offer condolences to Billy and his family for the loss of his father, Arthur, who passed away last month. From the Chicago Tribune. While Billy is well know to the public, his family isn’t, so please respect their privacy.
Updates to the site include photos added to the CSI season 4 gallery and new screencaps to the Twilight Zone episode – Need to Know. Also, I have added screencaps from the past two CSI episodes – Who Shot Sherlock and Snakes. Screencaps from the TV Guide Awards have also been added. Thanks to Connie for the pictures and to Puppypower for the screencaps! Marion has also shared this picture from The Belly of the Beast featured in a 1985 issue of the theatre magazine Plays and Players, larger photo is now held in our Gallery
Look for CSI to move from the Santa Clarita Studios next year – most likely to Universal Studios.
A couple of notes – I have stated this on the front page, but will say it again – this site is notaffliated with William Petersen. I receive many emails asking me for his autograph, email address and a variety of other things. I cannot help you with any of that. If you would like to write to William Petersen, his address is on the front page, as well as at the top of this page. Good luck!
Several people have written to complain about video clips – they can’t be opened. They can’t be opened because I removed them from the server. I will eventually add them back.
I will also add a CSI season 5 page as well. I know as of now the links to screencaps and such are scattered on the newspage – apologies for that.
January 14, 2005 – Added a few screencaps from Snakes dailies. Congratulations to the cast of CSI on their Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama series. The ceremony will be telecast on TNT on Feb. 5. Also, congratulations to CSI on their People’s Choice Award for favorite Drama. The ceremony aired on CBS this past Sunday (January 9, 2005). Billy did not attend, although most of the rest of cast was present, including Marg Helgenberger who won for favorite television actress (in a drama) People have emailed me asking why Billy didn’t attend. I certainly don’t know the answer to that other than he didn’t want to. He didn’t attend last year either. You can now subscribe to a new magazine, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation – The Official DVD Collection. An interview with Billy is featured in the first issue.
January 7, 2005 – Added Who Shot Sherlock dailies screencaps and excerpts from A Theater of Our Own : A History and a Memoir of 1,001 Nights in Chicago — by Richard Christiansen.
